The Fürstenfelder Modellbautage is an exhibition around model making where avid fans from home and abroad come to showcase their aircraft, ships, vehicles and miniature worlds. Extending over a floor space of 1,400 square metres, there’s something for everyone. Model making kits and accessories can be purchased from specialist suppliers and private collectors and builders. Highlights of the varied programme include appearances by a Star Wars troop and an exhibition by Bricking Bavaria e.V. displaying their very own amazing LEGO creations. Attractions in the courtyard of the Stadtsaal include an obstacle course for RC buggys and rides with a coal-powered narrow-gauge steam locomotive.
"Around 3,000 visitors flocked to the Veranstaltungsforum over the two days of the first ever Modellbautage – a trade fair for model-building. The event proved that remote-control aircraft and knight’s castles built from LEGO are not just child’s play." (SZ.de)
