Abbey Church of Fürstenfeld
The Abbey Church of Fürstenfeld is undoubtedly the flagship of Fürstenfeldbruck in terms of art and architectural history. Approaching the building from the east, the 75-metre-high tower dominates and from the other side, the visitor is spellbound by the monumental west façade. The sacred building was designed by Giovanni Antonio Viscardi, architect at the Wittelsbach court. The interior of the church surpasses even the high expectations intimated by the spectacular exterior. With the sunlight streaming in through the windows, the sumptuous decor is revealed in particular splendour. The church is open to visitors from May through October, Tuesdays to Sundays from 11am to 6pm. At all other times, the interior can only be accessed as far as the iron gates at the front. Guided tours can be arranged through the parish office of St. Magdalena (telephone ++49-8141/5016-0).
